Toddler Program

Outside Activity

In the Toddler Program, outside activities play a big part.

Children are exploring and discovering the world outside.

Looking at nature and insects in natural environments
.

Collecting various things from their exploration of outside to use and keep observing in class.
Observing many things, such as people and seeing how nature changes through the seasons.
As well as observation, it allows the children to explore outside sensory, for example touching trees, rocks in gardens, different flowers, water.

Outside activities also allow the children to move their bodies freely, without being restricted in an inside setting.

Sensory Activity

Sensory activities are great fun and the children really enjoy getting in there and touching and experiencing different forms.

Sensory activities are enhancing their confidence to explore and try out new things and allows them to use their imagination.

Some of the sensory activities that we do in the Toddler Program are:

Flour/Cornstarch..Children are feeling the stickiness of the cornstarch mixed with water.

Painting with their hands and with their feet. In these pictures the children mixed the paint with shaving cream to see the different effects that it makes.
Children are also encouraged to color and create anything as well as cut paper with different types of scissors.
Making play dough.  Children are mixing together the ingredients and watching it turn into play dough.
Making play dough is enabling them to use their imagination and design anything with it, for example making shapes or just feeling the texture in their hands.

Experiencing all over sensory. Feeling the difference between paint, shaving cream, water, flour, and corn starch.

The children had a lot of fun with this activity!

In class
The children have a great time not only with outside activities, but also in the classroom!

They get the opportunity of day-to-day social interaction with other children and with their teachers in a bilingual environment.

The children are friends with each other, which enables them to not only learn from each other but also to teach each other with different ideas and creativity, as well as providing encouragement to try something new.
